Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport (DFW)

1. The busiest departure times for DFW include:
-
7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. to the east coast
-
9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. to airports west of DFW
-
1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. regardless of destination
2. EDCT Delays. Many aircraft heading to Atlanta, Chicago O’Hare, Newark, LaGuardia, Los Cabos, and Monterrey, Mexico may experience delays due to the EDCT (Expect Departure Clearance Time) delay program. Make sure to take note of this if you are making connections through one of these airports.
3. Flights to Houston (IAH). Many flights into IAH may experience a short, less than 15 minutes, delay due to overhead flow. The landing pattern into IAH runs directly over DFW, making it harder for flights leaving DFW for IAH to enter the landing line-up.
