KYW Reports, "The FAA says it has enough air traffic controllers on duty to keep the skies safe. But it plans to step up hiring and training to meet the demands of the future.
A total of 83 controllers work in the tower at Philadelphia International Airport. Their average age is about 48.... The controllers union, NATCA, has warned that the FAA needs to address its aging controller workforce -- calling the staffing plan a Wal-Mart solution in a Tiffany's box."
